On Friday, August 14, the Freedom Power Soccer Foundation and the Colorado Rolling Rapids spent the day at the Gaylord Rockies for Nu-Venture Wheelchair Activities & EXPO Day 2026, hosted by the Numotion Foundation. The expo floor was packed — chairs, demos, families, and adaptive-sports partners everywhere. It was exactly the kind of community day our 501(c)(3) exists to support.
Event host Michele Longo gave the Rolling Rapids a full court from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM — a huge gift that let the team set up, warm up, and run real clinics instead of fighting for floor space. Assistant coach Richard helped get the booth and sport chairs ready and greeted visitors while Coach Brian prepared chairs for anyone who wanted to try power soccer.
On the court
During warm-up the athletes were testing some new ideas (team details staying in the gym for now) and, by their own admission, booming the ball harder than the expo probably expected. Numotion staff and event volunteers spent a good part of the morning chasing stray balls — our thanks for rolling with it.
From 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, about ten people got into chairs and played with the Rapids. Roughly twenty more stopped by to watch and ask questions. Out of those ten, the team is hoping at least two will turn into real prospects who join for the first practice of the season.

Why we show up
Most athletes find power soccer at an expo, a school visit, or a friend's invitation — not on a tryout flyer. Days like Nu-Venture are how we grow the sport in Colorado and Wyoming. The Foundation's job is to make the next step affordable: equipment, gym time, league fees, and travel, so no family pays out of pocket to get on the court.
Thank you
Thank you to Michele Longo and the Numotion Foundation for coordinating a massive, welcoming event — and to every clinic partner on the floor. We hope to be back next year.
