The Sport

What Is Power Soccer?

The only competitive team sport designed for athletes who use power wheelchairs.

The Basics

Fast, strategic, and 100% the athlete's own

Played indoors on a basketball court, power soccer uses power wheelchairs fitted with specialized foot guards to strike a 13-inch ball. Two teams of four compete in a fast-paced game that rewards skill, spacing, communication, and teamwork.

The Only One

Power soccer is the only competitive team sport designed for athletes who use power wheelchairs.

Ages 7 & Up

Co-ed and open to girls and boys ages 7 and up, with no upper age limit. Everyone competes together.

100% Independent

No guides or helpers on court. Every pass, block, and goal is the athlete's own — controlling their chair, their moves, their shots.

Who Can Play

Co-ed, ages 7 and up, no upper age limit

Power soccer is open to athletes who use a power wheelchair for daily mobility. No prior experience is needed to start — sport chairs are available to try, and in many cases we can adapt an athlete's current chair.

Athletes commonly live with:

  • Cerebral Palsy (CP)
  • Muscular Dystrophy (including Duchenne)
  • Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)
  • Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Spina Bifida
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • ALS
  • Arthrogryposis
  • Any condition requiring a power chair for daily mobility
